Mobile Cranes & Lifting
Square and round pads for mobile crane outrigger feet, sized to the float and ground conditions.

An outrigger pad is the difference between a stable lift and a crane tipping over. When an 80-ton mobile crane extends its outrigger, all that force concentrates on a metal foot smaller than a dinner plate. Without adequate load distribution, the ground gives way. Our UHMWPE outrigger pads spread that force across up to 1.44 m² (for a 1200×1200mm pad), reducing ground pressure from potentially hundreds of PSI down to well within the bearing capacity of asphalt, compacted soil, or gravel. UHMWPE is a fraction of the weight of steel or aluminum, so typical pads can be handled by one worker.

Most common configuration. Available from 300×300mm to 2000×1000mm, in square, round, or rectangular shapes. Load capacity depends on pad size and thickness — contact us for a recommendation. The default choice for mobile cranes, concrete pumps, and aerial lifts.
Round pads can be rolled into position by one person — no lifting needed for large pads. Custom diameters and thicknesses available. Popular with crane rental companies for fast solo setup.
Interlocking stackable blocks for height adjustment on uneven ground. Build up to required height under outrigger feet. UHMWPE won't split, crack, or absorb water. Replace traditional wood cribbing that rots and splinters.
Typical lifting and stabilisation applications for UHMWPE outrigger pads.

Square and round pads for mobile crane outrigger feet, sized to the float and ground conditions.

Stabilisation pads for concrete pumps, utility trucks, and lifting equipment on project sites.

Pads for bucket trucks, digger derricks, and field equipment working on turf or soft ground.

High-visibility pads for fire trucks, rescue vehicles, and other special-purpose fleets.
A 600×600mm UHMWPE pad weighs 14 kg. Same size in aluminum: ~56 kg. Steel: ~98 kg. One worker vs. crane deployment. For crane rental companies, this means faster setup and fewer crew.
Wood cribbing soaks up rain, oil, and chemicals. It rots from the inside out. After 6 months in a truck bed, most wooden pads are compromised. UHMWPE doesn't care. Zero water absorption. No rot. No splinters through gloves.
Working near power lines or in refineries, this matters. UHMWPE is electrically insulating. No spark risk when dropped. Aluminum conducts. Steel sparks. For utility crews and petrochemical sites, this is non-negotiable.
Every pad is inspected before shipment. Contact us for the current warranty terms for your product and application.
Laser engrave your company name, logo, and serial numbers. Anti-theft identification. Brand visibility on every job site. Hot-press, laser, or CNC etching — your choice.
UHMWPE stays ductile at temperatures where HDPE becomes brittle. Used on Alaska North Slope and Saudi Arabian oil fields. Same pad, same performance.
| Comparison Parameter | UHMWPE Outrigger Pad | Wood / Plywood Pad |
|---|---|---|
| Weight (600×600×40mm) | ~14 kg — easy 1–2 person handling | ~25–35 kg (heavier when wet) |
| Lifespan | 10+ years, 1,000+ reuse cycles | 1–5 uses; rots, warps, splits quickly |
| Wear Resistance | 6–7× more wear-resistant than steel | Poor — splinters, cracks, breaks |
| Water / Moisture Resistance | Zero absorption; fully waterproof | Absorbs moisture; rots, swells, becomes heavy |
| Chemical Resistance | Excellent — resists oils, acids, alkalis, solvents | Poor — absorbs chemicals; degrades |
| Temperature Range | −50°C to +80°C | Warps, cracks in extreme temperatures |
| Maintenance Required | Zero maintenance | Regular inspection for rot and damage |
| Deployment Speed | Seconds — manual handling, integrated handles | Slow — requires cutting and fitting |
| Handling Equipment | 1–2 workers; no heavy equipment needed | 2–4 workers; may need a forklift |
| Safety | Anti-slip surface; non-conductive | Slippery when wet; splinter hazard |
| Environmental Impact | 100% recyclable; pollution-free production | Deforestation; landfill waste; not recyclable |
| ISPM-15 Compliance | Yes — no fumigation required | No — requires fumigation for export |
| Theft Prevention | Custom engraving and serial numbering available | Easily stolen, no tracking |
| Long-Term Cost | Low — one investment, years of use | High — frequent replacement costs |
Truck cranes, all-terrain cranes, rough-terrain cranes. 20-200 ton class. Pads sized to match outrigger float dimensions.
Boom pumps and line pumps. Extended outrigger configurations. Recessed center option to capture round outrigger feet.
Scissor lifts, articulated booms, telescopic booms. Lightweight pads for frequent repositioning. Non-marking for indoor use.
Stabilizer pads for rapid deployment on unstable terrain. High-visibility yellow. Stackable for height adjustment.
Small-format jack pads. 300-500mm sizes. Light enough for RV storage compartments. Prevents sinking into gravel, dirt, or hot asphalt.
Telecom, power line, sign installation, tree trimming. Pads protect client driveways and lawns — the first thing they check after the job.
Up to 90% of crane-related accidents attributed to human error. 54% of incidents specifically due to improper outrigger use (Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau). Half of all crane lifting accidents from improper outrigger use. UK construction 2020/21: 14 of 39 fatalities from collapsing/overturning. OSHA database: 55+ crane outrigger incidents. Ground conditions rank third-leading non-auto cause of operational failures in crane/rigging industry (ProSight Specialty Insurance).
Required Area = Outrigger Force ÷ Allowable Ground Bearing Capacity. Force from manufacturer tables. Area from pad footprint. Rule of thumb: pad should be ≥3× outrigger shoe area on Grade A soil. Engineered UHMWPE outperforms wood and steel in stiffness consistency, moisture resistance, and weight. Key: stiffness (resistance to bending) distributes load — strong but flexible pads concentrate pressure and defeat the purpose. Most pad failures are from shear, where material bends past yield point.
